Our Tours from Inuvik, NT

June 20 - September 30

Boat Tour To The Arctic Ocean and Pingos

Standard: 5 guests, minimum of 3. For more, please get in touch with us first.

A full day in an aluminium boat down the Mackenzie to the Arctic Ocean, past the East Whitefish Station whaling camps, watching for beluga on open water. We finish with a shore picnic at the Pingo on the Arctic coast beside Tuktoyaktuk, inside the Pingo Canadian Landmark, which is Canada’s only National Landmark. Established in 1984 and managed by Parks Canada, it protects eight pingos across 16 square kilometres, including Ibyuk, the tallest in Canada at 49 metres and the second tallest in the world. Dip your toe in the Arctic Ocean and take home the certificate.

June - September

Mackenzie River To Reindeer Station Tour

This three-hour tour starts on the Mackenzie and runs up to Reindeer Station, where we walk the old settlement together. The camp Enoch’s grandparents built is still standing, and we show you the tools people used out here and how families lived and worked. We come home by a different route through small creeks and open country, and there is usually wildlife along the way, so keep watching for moose, bears, beavers, wolves and the birds passing through.

June - September

Mackenzie River Fishing Tour

Spend the day fishing the Mackenzie for jackfish and inconnu, which run anywhere from modest to worth a photo. We bring the rods, the tackle and everything else you need, so come as you are.

June 20 - September 30

Sandy Hills Full-Day Excursion

Standard: 5 guests, minimum of 3. For more, please get in touch with us first.

This is our signature full-day Mackenzie Delta excursion and the best single Inuvik day tour we run, with boating, hiking, and fishing packed into one long day on the water and the hills.

*A traditional tasting (dried white fish, moose meat, local cranberry jelly, traditionally baked bannock, and muktuk) is available upon request.*

Year round

Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway Driving Tour

For travellers who prefer land, or who come in winter. We drive the ITH together: 138 km of two-lane gravel and eight bridges, Canada’s only all-season public highway to the Arctic Ocean, open since November 15 2017.

Year round

Dempster Highway Arctic Circle Day Tour

Cross the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway with us. This 8- to 10-hour day trip takes you along one of Canada’s most remote gravel highways through open Northern Tundra, with a stop at the Arctic Circle.

Winter & Autumn

Northern Lights Tour

When the darkness returns in autumn and winter, we head out of Inuvik in the evening to chase the aurora. We drive along the Mackenzie River, away from the town lights, to where the sky opens up over the land, then wait out in the quiet for the lights to show before bringing you back to town.
