Our Home Waters: Small-Group Mackenzie River Tours
Our home sits on the East Channel of the Mackenzie River, and this river is where our family's story begins. These tours share it the way we know it: by boat, at a pace that leaves room for questions, stories, and fresh fish grilled over an open fire.
Every trip is guided by us, Enoch and Amanda. Groups stay small, the boat leaves from our place, and from the first call to the last scenic kilometre, you're treated like family.

3-Hour Cultural Boat Tour to Reindeer Station
THE CULTURAL TOUR
What You Do At Reindeer Station
Reindeer Station is a short boat ride down the East Channel, and we take the visit slowly. We walk around the settlement with you, tell you what happened here and who lived here, and leave the time to actually look at the place rather than point at it from the water.
Walk The Settlement
We walk the old settlement together and read what is left of it.
Our Family's Camp
The camp our grandparents built still stands, with the tools people used and the way families lived and worked out here.
The Way Home
We come home by a different route, through small creeks and open country where moose, beavers and passing birds are often seen.

What Every River Tour Includes

Guided by Our Family
Every trip is led by Enoch and Amanda, born and raised in Inuvialuit country. At each stop we share the family history tied to it, including our grandparents' original camp and the traditional tools our family lived with on the land.

Our Groups
We keep our groups small. You're welcomed by us, and the guiding stays personal from the moment you arrive to the moment we tie up the boat.

Gear and a Shore Lunch
All boat, safety and fishing equipment is provided, so all you need to bring is yourself and a camera. Tours include locally sourced food, like whitefish or inconnu grilled over the fire, moose ribs, muktuk, and locally foraged tea on request.
When to Come
- Open water: Boat tours run roughly June to September
- Midnight sun: Continuous daylight in Inuvik from roughly May 24 to July 19
- Aurora: Darkness returns in late August, with northern lights visible through autumn and winter

Frequently Asked Questions
No to both, all boat, safety and fishing equipment is provided, and Enoch has been fishing these waters his whole life, so first-timers are in good hands. If you'd rather watch than cast, any fishing outing can run as a scenic river tour instead.
Boat tours run in open-water season, roughly June to September. Come in late May to mid July for midnight sun and endless light, or later in summer for calmer, warmer days. Ice decides the exact dates each year, so ask us about your travel window.
Small and personal, never cruise-ship scale. Exact group sizes are confirmed with Enoch when you book, and every guest is welcomed by us, not handed off to a bigger crew.
Just yourself, a camera, and clothing in layers for wind and weather on the water. We handle the boat, the gear, and the food, including locally sourced fish grilled over the fire.
